In the mid 80's the Pursuit was a lower model in the Raleigh lineup. Figure it to be a 28 lb sport touring bike.
If it fits you, and is indeed in as nice of condition as it appears to be, it looks like a good rider.
BTW, there is one on Memphis CL for $40. Maybe you can use that info to talk him down on the price.

Yeah, the price is definitely on the high side.
