I'm upgrading an Italian steel bike and looking to get an all carbon fork. I need a 1" steerer so the options are a little limited. First and second on my wish list are the Reynolds Ouzo Pro and Alpha Q Sub 3, but they're a bit of a budget stretch at $300. It looks like Alpha Q also makes an all-carbon EX700 listed at 360gm for about $200. Anyone have any experience with this fork? Any other recommendations more in the $200 range? Thanks! - Ralph

The big difference between MOST forks in the $200 range and the ones you mentioned is that the steerer is likely to be chromoly or aluminum as opposed to all carbon. Which adds a bunch of relative weight.

I'd hold out for the Ouzo Pro. You don't see many 1" versions on Ebay but Performance has them for $299 and if you can add in a 20% coupon, the price comes down to $240.

Good luck.

I second that. I got mine just after winter and love it.
