So the stock WTB (and following Michelin Transworld) tires on my San Jose sounded awful (like riding through ground beef) and felt sloppy. So I Bought a pair of Maxxis RE-Fuse (700x25) from my LBS in October. Installation was fairly easy into the stock Alex Solo rims. The re-fuses corner very well and have withstood all manner of broken glass and urban junk these streets have thrown at them. No flats and nothing stuck in what little tread they have. Most impressive so far has been how well they have handled the bit of snow and ice we got this week. While cars are skidding to a stop I'm able to maintain speed and corner confidently (though I did almost bite it after getting stuck in a MTB tire track left in the ice between a SEPTA bus and parked cars). I did let a little air out this morning to help the cause (down to 95 psi from the recommended max of 120), I'm not sure if it helped traction, but it did give a better workout on my way into work. So three months of use, no installation issues, no flats, great traction, relatively cheap. :thumb:
