Would be helpful if you could take the bike frame out of the box, and just describe here:

- The color
- Whether there are any decals on the frame and what they say (including the tubing)
- The serial number if you can find it (probably on the bottom of bike).

Also, an important question was asked above. Is it "new" in the box, as in, never ever ridden, and still in the original box? Or "in a box" as in it's been in storage for many years but has been ridden. If it's been ridden, what's the overall condition?

Photos are even better if you can take some and post them.

Sounds like an interesting find; lots of folks here could be helpful.

The frame is a little older than 1990. 1987 - 1989 would be a better guess. Bottecchia won the World Championship in 1986 as stated on the decal so it has to be later than that. They also won again in 1989 and the 1990 - 92 frames have decals that state 'Campione del Mondo 66-85-86-89'. A 1989 frame would also have a blue decal on the downtube just below the head tube anouncing the Carnielli 80th anniversary - 1909 - 1989 so that could pin it down further. Not that it would make much difference as far as price. Used Bottecchia Cromor frames from that period have gone for around $250 on eBay so an NOS frame could probably get $350 as Kurt mentioned.
