Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Sir,
It is very basic. Which frame size accomodates you? Then ask yourself if the parts included are the ones you want or are many items simply not what you want? After all this ask yourself if this shop you are purchasing provide good knowledgeable service or is it somes business man with high school kids as employess. This last question is a big one as if any problems arise with the frame they can take care of the problems between you and the company.
Remember the bike shop is not in control of quality of bike but their job is to take care of that process for you. You won't believe the shops that leave buyers hanging out to dry when they need help. Not to mention work with you as you may need a different stem, bars, etc... They should know basic fitting to make you more comfortable.
Once the bike is purchased do they offer rides. This may not be important for many but I feel it is. Many shops not only do not know about the sport but do not care to support it. A shop that offers rides or is affiliated with a club is a shop worth shopping at. No matter the prices. Theirservice is what keeps cycling going.
