Cyclocross - what wheels you campy riders race on?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

starting to plan my build for next years race bike... ive got a 10speed centaur group im thinking about using, but my leftover wheels are flashpoint fp 60s and chris king cross, both of which are shimano hubs (obviously for the kings) so... should i rethink my group (maybe sram?) use american classic 10speed conversion cassette (anyone used these?) or buy some campagnolo splined wheels? and if so, what wheels?
I am a novice racer, so I don't have too much to say about durability, but I am running a full campy 10 set up with bontrager race lite wheels. I hear these are rather stiff for cross wheels, but for $170 for the pair from craigslist they were hard to beat.

Plenty of cheap Campagnolo compatible wheels out there. Campagnolo's own Khamsin and Vento come to mind, or you could go for Miche Racing. I have a pair of Veloce hubs laced to Mavic Open Sports and a pair of Velocity hubs laced to Velocity Escapes. Neither cost more than 150$, although both were 2nd hand.

I built up my wheels using Record hubs. I also bought some campy splined kysrium es wheels on close out. Most carbon wheels have an option to swap out to campy freehub body.

I'm using shimano-splined hubs with the American Classic conversion cassette. Works well, and I didn't have to buy another wheelset.
yeah, just get the american classic cassette

you could run shimano 9 with the alternate cable routing with the centaur group.

Mine shifts pretty much the same as the Campy cassette I have on another wheelset. A search in the road forum will yield some varied responses. You can find the AC cassette or it's Wheels Manufacturing equivalent (no experience, but heard that one had some shifting issues) on ebay for around $60 instead of retail.
The alternate cable routing thing works pretty well too. So does using a Shimano derailleur to shift 8 spd shimano or Sram.

i just use a campy mirage hub laced to a mavic reflex rim.
next year i hope to get at least two more rear wheels like that although one may upgrade to dtswiss hub.
