Great Lakes - Who's coming to the NAHBS in Indy?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have a childhood buddy who supposedly helped quite a bit with bringing it to Indy. Was thinking about making it down.

I'll probably be there. 8 hour drive, but closer than San Diego or Portland.

Who is claiming to help bring it to Indy? How did they influence the decision?
Don Walker, the show founder, moved to Speedway, IN, last year. He planned to move the show to other parts of the country anyway so the Midwest, Southeast, or East were the next logical regions. Since he is living here I don't think it was that big a deal to get him to have it here. Can you enlighten us?
I would think that since Indianapolis is centrally located that if attendance is good it might stay here awhile or be here very regularly. Several bicycle clubs are scheduling their statewide conventions here to coincide with the NAHBS on that weekend and local support from bicycle shops and the bicyle club is strong.

dekindy......do you have anymore information about the clubs conventions? I'd like to check it out. I'm hesistant to join CIBA but I think that is because I would like to see more things happening with them. Maybe I'm just ignorant....

David Bradley. Take it up with him.
I just moved back from Europe and couldn’t believe my luck with it being in Indy this year. I’ll be there for sure.

Thanks invwnut! I don't know that it is more exciting, more bicycles, bike lanes and bike paths for sure. I've been going crazy due to the fact my bikes are still in shipment. But, I just picked up a rebuilt Gary Fisher Wahoo as a single speed from the Bicycle Garage (http://bikegarage.com/) in Bloominton to use as a winter bike. Good riding to you.

I'll be there on Saturday.
I bought my plane ticket a couple days ago. New to bike forum but I've been building bikes for a few years now and trying to get more serious with it. Will be good to see all the work of the pros in one place and visit family in Indy.
The website is a bit confusing, does anyone know, if I want to attend the seminars, do I have to buy a 3 day pass and a seminar pass? or just the seminar pass. The only support link I could find was Don's email so I sent him one yesterday.

Thinking about going either Friday or Saturday. Not sure if I am going to stay overnight or suffer driving though Chicago twice in one day. Leaning towards Friday, probably a smaller crowd.
Any one interested in going along?
I'll be driving over from Dayton on Sunday.
