Having a hard time finding any information on this Tomasso Classic. Going to look at it today. Here's a link to the cl listing.

It has columbus (and from the picture I believe cromar) tubing, shimano 105 components. This seems very worth it to me. I definitely can talk him down on the price because he was going to trade it in to a bike shop for 200 dollars on a new mountain bike.
Does anyone know anything more/can tell anything me anything more?

So. I decided to pick this up, talked the guy down to 225, very glad I did. If anyone knows anything about Ten Speed Drive Imports or knows who the maker of this frame was/can tell me anything about it I'm quite interested to know. Looking around online the frame was either made by billato, guerciotti, mondonico, or andy gilmour. The paint job is pretty interesting, fading from blue to like a smoke-like texture. The Columbus sticker says its accico(?) Cro-mar (?).

Sorry if I'm coming off as way overzealous. It just is a really fun bike, and living in florida and the somewhat weird history of ten speed drive is interesting to me and I'd like to know more about it. I'm also curious if 225 was about a level deal or not. I've tried to do as much research as I could on my own, but can't find much. I'm going to post this at one other forum because in their archive there are posts regarding tommasos answered by former employees of tsdi.
It came with basically shimano 105 everything except for seatpost, which I can't readily identify. The hubs are laced to ma-2s, and from researching them and riding them I've gleaned they were once pretty top notch stuff. The rear cassette seems to have indexing, but it is not properly set up. It came with biopace(?) chainrings.
If anyone can tell me anything more about it, it would greatly be appreciated. This the first lightweight steel frame I've owned (I'm 20) and I'm naturally excited about it. I plan on putting a lot of work into cleaning this up, and in the process starting to teach myself more basic bike maintence, as the indexing is off. Many Thanks!
Nice score!! You can closely estimate age by getting the date codes off of the components and looking them up on the vintage Trek site. The seat post will often be open dated (something like 02 82) or similar. Get a couple of the components to match (or within a few months of each other) and that probably is the age of the bike. Can't beat vintage steel!
