Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anybody ever heard of these bikes branded Sekine? Made in Japan, It has suntour Cyclone Mk.II Deraillers. Sakae Road Champ bars SR stem? Sunshine Hubs? One of the rims was made in france the other looks to be generic. Any info on the frame or the parts is appreciated.

Ringing any bells?
They sold quite a few in Canada, I think I read somewhere that they were assembled in British Columbia. I'll check my sources and get back to you.
Funny thing is I found Witt inscribed on the seat tube and the chain ring. Witt must have owned this bike at some point before it was abused. Witt! I have your bike!

My second 10-speed was a Sekine back in about 1977. It was a Japanese bike. About its only claim to fame was that it was an inexpensive chrome-moly frame. The rear dropout lacked a derailleur hanger, however, unlike the Reynolds 531 chrome-moly frames of the day. It was an okay bike, but I sold it after picking up a nice Holdsworth frame.

The Sekine headbadge was neat: looked like it had a diamond set in the headbadge.
