hi, got a nishiki riviera off craigslist today for $100... i found a lot online about the nishiki riviera eurotech and the nishiki riviera gt, but i can't really find anything about the nishiki riviera. kd10674 appears to be the serial number, and it says handcrafted by kawamura. cranks are sugino vt. 1 tire is brand new (haha).
anyway, i bought it as practice rebuilding but i dunno if it's really worth is since i already (impulsively) dropped a hundred. any thoughts?

Here in the Seattle area during spring/summer I could get $100 for that bike all day long if it went down the road nice and stopped well.....You did just fine.
Depends where you live. Around here, you are close to value. Stem shifters are a negative, as are turkey levers. Crank is a plus as are quick release hubs and alloy rims. What is the frame made out of? If it is unmarked, it is likely high ten steel. High ten steel around here I would guess value at $125, cromoly frame, $150.
You have the right attitude, great bike to practice on, you will not lose any money for sure. And much better than the XMart crap that sells for 2X.

I just bought a Nishiki Riviera GT off craigslist in LA for 200.00 and felt like i was getting a pretty good deal, at least the main triangle is Tange Infinity, the fork is chromoly, I assume the chainstays are too but they aren't marked,
I agree with the first reply, 100 bucks for a piece of steel that rolls, shifts and stops in a major metropolitan area with a high incidence of fixedosis can be considered a deal.
