Introductions - Hello From Thailand

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi guys,
I've been riding casually for sometime. Recently I decided to commute to work by bike to lower my blood pressure. Doing so makes me recover the long lost fun of my childhood. I'm hooked.

Excellent!
What bike are you using for the commute? Where are you in Thailand?

I'm in Chiangmai. The bike I use is an old Miyata touring bike which is around 20 years of age. The drive train is a SounTour AccuShift group set which is still running very smooth despite their age. I think the Japanese really know how to build the bike to last.

Oh, which model Miyata is it? Miyata made some excellent touring bikes, and no, you can't beat the SunTour stuff.

The sticker says TryCross. But this one is definitely not the new hybrid model of that name with a flat bar. Mine has a drop bar. From what I can tell, this one came out of the facotry fully equipped with front and rear racks, mud guard and a dynamo driven front light. The last item still glow bright whenever I switch it on.
