Like newish..... 1985 PGN10 fully lugged Reynolds 501 with tubular wheels and French components and BSA threading. I have a complete Dura-Ace 7700 9-speed group with wheels ready to go on it.
I've been looking for awhile now for a nice personal road bike since selling my carbon Klein last summer. This will work well.
When I'm done with it I'll have a sub 20lb ride.

:thumb: I used the PX money for this but there're 2 other bikes I want right now that I'll probably pass on.

Very nice, Jim. I love it. It's in fantasic shape. Do you think you can save the tape when you install the DA group?
Huh, my size too. ;)

Of course but I'm not going to use it. I'm actualy going to remove the bars and stem as unit leaving the levers and cables and front brake caliper attached. Its getting anatomical bars with a threadless stem and stem adapter.

I have a charcoal colored 1983. How do you plan to get it under 20 pounds? That must mean about 3 lbs have to come off.

Is that The Benotto "Professional Cello-Tape?." If so, my LBS has a bunch of that Yellow tape for 2 or 3 Euros. I got a few black and blue ones.

I was watching that one on ebay. Just couldn't do Reynolds 501. Good price, tho. I believe it's really a 1986.

Correct, about 3 lbs. My basic plan looks like this:
1. Ditch the seat for a lightweight titanium railed model. ~1/2 lb.
2. Swap the pedals for Shimano 5xx SPD's. I own one pair of shoes that split time bewteen my mtn. and road bike so SPD's make the most sense to use
3. Change over to the Dura-Ace group. It may be a wash as some of the PGN components are very, very light.
4. Use a threadless stem/bar combo with an adapter. ~1/4 lb savings.
5. Lightweight tires and inner tubes. I'm sure what the story is but the PGN has tubulars on it right now although the catalog lists clinchers as OEM.
A little here and a little there should add up to the savings I'm looking for.

Thanks, when it gets here I'll properly set it up and re-shoot it. It should look much better once the seat and bars are correctly adjusted and the reflectors get ditched.
Well, I take that one off my ebay watch list as well. Guess I'll have to put my PE-300 back together.

A PX10 with a lighter frame and tubulars weighs over 20 lbs.
Good luck.

I would ride it just like it is ALL FRENCH! I think you'll be very happy with it without having to adulterate it at all!
Here's my pgn10. Been thinking of selling it but no biters on craigslist(I'm probably asking too much ;)) It sits at 22lbs and its the 63cm frame. ultegra derailures, new tiagra levers, new campy compact crankset, new easton bars, mavic ma3 wheels... It rides great, but i have no room for it. I like the fork on yours much better!
