Oncoming left turn. Again.
On southbound Fair Oaks. Again.

This time they say I fractured my finger though. So that's new.

Boo. :notamused:

Perhaps I should have taken more of the impact with my shoulder.

Edit: At the doctor, my pulse was 58, so that's cool.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you are well soon.

You need to spend more time on rollers. ;) Did you ever get those working?

I did. I still haven't replaced the missing nut, but I managed to stay upright for an eight minute stretch so far.

We gotta talk about an on-board camera this season.

Dude!!! Ok, the mom/teacher in me wants to give you some big lecture but I'm sure you're already rolling your eyes. ;) I am so glad you're ok. Don't trust 'em out there! Heal up fast!

Believe me ... take the broken finger over a broken clavicle.

Heal up man.

Since you ride Fair Oaks now... does this mean you don't live at the Alhambra anymore?

No, I was commuting on Fair Oaks when I did live there, but I've changed jobs and residences (multiple times) since then. I now live near the willy street hippy district.

I've been injured enough times to be genuinely interested in safety. :)

Seriously, I've been replaying the indecent incident in my mind, and I really don't know what I could have done to avoid it. I welcome lectures.

And yes. I now know that a broken finger is much better than a collarbone.

I hope the car got some good scratches, that'll learn 'em.

I took off the side view mirror, but the driver was very apologetic and co-operative. She's offering to pay any medical bill. Honest mistake on her part.

Any chance it was the finger pointing the way to the driver? :D

Very impressive! Mine's always 90 something . . . White coat syndrome

Best video I've seen today. Curious though. Is Park to Fish Hatch really faster than the trail to Seminal to Todd?

Jeez, I didn't know you were missing a nut! Former accident? Slipped and fell onto the top tube, I bet. Ouch, that's painful. But at least you can still stay "upright" (never heard it put that way).;)

Get better!

Not much. A couple of minutes depending on your destination,

He got it. If you watch the video of his commute and know Madison (the city we both live in) then you would understand.

I said super lame as in a weak pun about getting hit on a bicycle and not being able to walk. Also, yes I've been hit myself and it is lame.

So, doc says no riding outside for 4 weeks while my bone heals. Good thing this didn't happen in summer.

They did not. A cop showed up, but we didn't feel a need to log the incident. Probably dumb in retrospect, but everything worked out. I can tell you though from my extensive personal history of bicycle misfortune that I have been involved in almost an identical situation earlier. That driver was issued a citation for inattentive driving.

Yeah, it's really best that we all report such collisions. I know I regret not reporting one a long time ago but I wasn't hurt and I wanted to finish my ride.

The downside is this makes the reported bicycle injury rate artificially low and may reduce the impetus to fix a bad road design -- though it sounds like the road design wouldn't have made a difference in your case.

Best wishes for a quick recovery.

haven't been around for a while, and then i come here to find this. tom, you need to take up a prayer ritual before you go outside or something. also, we must be neighbors, because i live on s. ingersoll.

are you going to ride for iscorps this year?

take care.

wait you both are on iscorp? or am I confused?
Anyways Tom you should stop getting hit. The trainer, coincidentally, is somewhere where it is hard to get hit.

And I'm on Beans & Barley now. Ready to destroy the 3's. You heard it here first.

Why wouldn't you just bomb down main st to the Brittingham park trial to Park? Or has that changed since when I lived down on South Mills?

Heal up man!

No good reason. That sounds like a perfectly good route.

Thanks.
