Track Cycling: Velodrome Racing and Training Area - Track Frame Size Versus Road Frame Size Survey

I'm looking at getting a track frame that has head tube and seat tube geometry of 74 degrees. Classic track geometry. From the quote below, track frame sizing should be 1 centimeter smaller than on a road frame.

The frame size for a track bike should be one centimeter smaller than for a road bike because the seat tube is more vertical pushing you about one centimeter higher.

Question: Is your track frame size smaller than your road frame?

My road bike is 56 and the track is 55. But it depends on your set-up, and the top tube is a lot more important as far as fit. I knew I was gonna be using Nitto track bars, and they are deep, so my top tube is 1.5 cms shorter and stem 1cm shorter than on the roadbike. So it depends, but the old school is that track is a bit smaller, but this may also be due to old school road fit, which generally had a larger frame. Look at youtube of Merckx and the rest and you'll see what I mean.

I ride a 51 Fuji road bike w/ women's geometry, and a 49 Bianchi Pista.

i have a 58cm track frame with 58cm top tube.
i have 58cm road frame with 56cm top tube.
i have a 56cm road frame with 57cm top tube.
all have 11cm stems.
all fit ok except the 56cm frame has a bit more seat post showing.

i'd get the same size frame if you're talking classic geometry on both frames.

I'm 6'0" and ride 56cm road. My track is something like a 54.5cm.
