Foo - Train Derailment??

So I click on the UPS tracking link in the email from something I recently ordered (from newegg). It shows the last entry as "train derailment" and the "exception" flag is up at the stop near the estimated delivery.


WTF? The train derailed?

Not a big deal to wait a little longer on the package, I just thought that was pretty bizarre. How often do you see that on your tracking page?

eh, when I was coming back from my vacation, the airport had a "luggage conveyor failure", failed to load my bag onto my flight, and was delayed until the next morning.

Just about everybody has had that (or something similar).


I remember once my girlfriend was coming up to visit (before she moved here) and had a HORRIBLE flight/airport experience. She got rerouted many different times and what should have been about a 5 hour experience turned into about a 15 hour experience. Luggage, it turns out, made it up LOOOONG before she did and was in the airline's lost luggage room. By the time she got in (after midnight) the airline lost luggage room was closed up, locked and everybody gone home for the night. We had to go home without luggage and come get back to airport the next day to get it. What a crock of crapola!

I had a similar problem at Tampa International Airport (where I used to live) and they delivered by courier too. Not this cheap Sea-Tac airport. :mad:

Probably some idiot tried to beat the train at the crossing...again.

I had some stuff that was listed as "destroyed" It was on the UPS plane that burned up in Philly back in 2006 (http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/02/08/ups.plane.fire/):D had fun explaining that one to the architect:roflmao2:

OK....destroyed definitely trumps train derailed. That would be even hell funnier to see!

There was a train accident a few years ago, which included several cargo loads of Acura TSX's.

Yeah, so what.. ;) Get this, though: all those cars were brand new, but absolutely could not be sold. However, the Honda/Acura car tuner community found out that their motors (2.4 liter with decent torque and a high-rpm VTEC cam) could easily fit into the sporty Acura RSX coupe, Civic Si hatchback, or, with some extra work, damn near any other Honda.

So, the motors from those cars were salvaged, and maybe all of them found their way into the engine bays of Honda enthusiasts all over the country. When one showed up for sale, it would even be listed as a "train wreck engine", because everyone knew that it was virtually factory fresh, and for no more money than a used engine.

It was fun to track...I have the pdf screen shots somewhere. It started out as delayed, then exception, then destroyed. It took about 16 hours before they went from delayed to destroyed.:lol: I had a sneaking suspicisonn when I saw the video of the plane on fire:innocent:

What was funny, is that I caught it on the very early morning news, but it had been bumped by the 8 am news. I thought to myself that there were going to be some pissed people when they found out there payroll had burned up. I didn't know at the time MY stuff was on that plane...that came later when I went to track my 6 boxes.:eek:
