Mountain Biking - Which shoes?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Im looking to get a new pair of shoes. either the Sidi Dominator 4 or the Shimano M180. I have the sidi genuis 4 road shoes so i really like the way they fit and feel, but i dont REALLy want to spend 200 bucks again (i will if i must :))...I like how the Shimano has a rachet buckle system like the Sidi but how does it hold up? and is it replaceable? I like the shimano because its cheaper, but i know the Sidi is a durable machine...What would yall recommend? thanks

Nothing I have tried fits and feels as good as the SIDI's. I just bought a new pair of Dominator 4's off E bay. (to replace my older pair of dominators)
If you look and are patient you can get a new pair for about half price from there.

i dont like carnac shoes...they hurt my feet...i have no arch
Good choice on the Sidis. I haven't tried a better fitting shoe than my Sidi ActionSRS... unless you count my Sidi Energy road shoes although they fit the same. :)
I have a brand new pair of Vittoria Rock mtb shoes I'd sell, but they may be too little for you. Size 10. I sell shoes on eBAY sometimes. I buy them in Europe & sell them here. Even after the importation and s/h costs, I can still make about $60/pair. Believe it on not... Vittoria's are also handmade in Italy, and are very comfortable. eBAY rulz!!!
PS. I personally like Specialized shoes. I've owned several pair over the years, and they always please me.
