what's a freecoaster? I know nothing about bmx beyond my brothers I used to ride when I was a kid.

It's a hub that can move in either direction without turning the cranks (unlike a typical freewheel that will pedal when rolling backwards)

1:07 is probably the most impressive thing I've ever seen in a BMX video. I have no idea how that kid holds wheelies that long. And yeah, the music blows.

Also, after riding a properly-sized bike I just can't get used to how silly people look on BMX bikes.

i always find it really funny when i see people using BMX bikes to get around. That must suck ass.

Most of those fixed street riding vids are total yawn fests. Only cool trick in the OPs vid was the sess slide on that bank, IMO.

Ines Brunn vids have actual impressive tricks throughout.

generally, +1. personally, the 'hate' is not on fixed gear vids per se, but the fact that most only have one-off tricks (pretty boring whether fixed, BMX, skate/snow, etc.), and the seemingly obligatory skids and between-the-vehicles shots. wheelies can be cool, but when the wheelie is just a one-off trick most times, they become decidedly less impressive.

sometimes i see a run by a rider which is cool, but, generally...a fixed gear video is a fixed gear video is a fixed gear video. also, no, cool music does not make a cool video.

does anyone have that cadence clip where the guy does the wheelie with no front wheel. also does anyone have the link for the clip of the dude that rides the BMC track machine with zipp disk through the park trails?

I'm not hating, I'm just saying that if you're going to watch someone doing tricks on a bike, why not watch someone actually doing good tricks? What possible reason could there be to watch a video of some dude doing a wheelie over and over when you can watch a video of someone doing far more impressive tricks?

Rather than look at it as a distinction between "this one is on fixed gear, this one is on a BMX" I think it makes more sense to just look at the actual tricks they're doing. One features weak as hell tricks that anyone with an afternoon to kill could figure out, the other features alot more impressive tricks, bigger jumps, faster speeds, higher risk, better flow between tricks and all around better presentation.
