Mountain Biking - Not to sound like a noob, but. . .

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

. . . DMR V8s VS Azonic Fusions. I'm going to try to order something tonight or tomorrow in the hopes of it being here next weekend. Both are going to be about 31-32 shipped. And thats about as much as I'm willing to spend on platforms.
...you sound like a noob butt.

I have some DMR V-12s and I really like them. They're the sealed bearing versions of the V-8s. The platform is a little smaller then some other platforms so if you have bigger feet you might want to avoid them. I am a size 10 and really like them. They are lighter pedal the the Azonics and are super grippy especially if you get the longer pins. They have a grease port for easier lubrication. I like mine I'd say go for the V-8s.

Go clipless.
I am, but I'm a bit fed up with my shoes and pedals getting filled with ice and mud. :)

If you just want crappy pedals for crappy weather and you're gonna go back to clipless when it clears up...go get some el'cheapo 10 cast alu flats with those cheezey nubs on 'em. That's what I put on my crapper of crappers.

I'd like to try out some goodish platforms for urban riding anyways, and if I dont like them, I know someone who I could sell them to.
