I had started a thread about buying a mongoose and have since blown that off. Seems the Specialized has a much nicer ride. I wanted to buy 2 bikes. One for me and my son. We bought him the "murdered out" black one yesterday. Kids expressions.. Anyways, I was also gonna get the black since that is the only color they carry but... They didn't have my size. So.... The gloss yellow looks really nice in the picture and I'm debating about ordering that color. But, has anyone seen one in real life?? Does it have that translucent yellow gold color??? That is what I'm looking for.

You can see both colors here.

Thanks!

Thanks...I think the Yellow looks good too but I'd like someones opinion who has seen it. I'm really hoping it's translucent. My old GT road bike is a translucent red which I like.

"Murdered out".... "Murdered Up".... Ya know, kids these days like things all dark and black. My son will see an all black car with black rims and say look Dad, that car is all murdered up.. And yesterday, I got the same response when we went shopping. The bike isn't that dark but the things they say are funny.

Thanks for the ideas!

Gotchya...I thow down a bit'a gangsa' slang now and then, but I'm truly sickened by how mainstream the "thug" attitude has become. Talkin' with attitude while sliding your head from side to side...

...irritating.

What's with all these new expressions? I'm only 21 and I'm starting to feel old and out of touch. According to Urban Dictionary (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=murdered+out), it will be "murdered out" if it is black on black, like black frame and black components.

As for the OP's question, I would personally prefer the charcoal, there's just something about that shade of yellow that I don't like. However, I noticed that some bike's paintjobs will look a lot different in person compared to their pictures online.

I know it's a bit pimped out but I think It's nice. Loud but not busy is the key to making it work. I paint Harleys and have seen a lot of really bad paint jobs. Some of them where painted by me at the customers request. And I walk into LBS and look at some of the bike themes that are just awful. Just too busy with color and graphics.

So JD???? Please please answer this question. Would you say the color was metallic as in I think I could see the aluminum tubing through it (translucent)? Or metallic as in I think there were small metal flakes or pearl flakes in the paint... kinda sparkles in the sunlight? I hope not the later.

Yeah, I know, It's silly to worry about color. But I do. Now carry on with the crib speak.

The yellow is ugly in person. The other color is charcoal gray with black graphics. Go with this one.

Yellow...don't look like a man and his clone on the trail.

This has turned into such a fashion trendy forum.

Buy yellow and spraypaint it pink.
