Cyclocross - Kona JTS fork question

Now that cs season has basically wrapped up Im seeing some good deals on forks.

I was considering upgrading to a new fork (mine has need the ground and other unmovable objects over the last two years).

i ride an 08 JTS. I was considering an ALpha Q 20, but not sure how much better it is than a standard kona fork.

Not sure what to look for - other than my specs say that the rake is 45, but it looks like the alpha is 47. I assume that will give me a bit more stability up front at the cost of quickness?

anyhow - anybody have a jts and a fork upgrade? what did you do - or what would you do?

What you're saying happened to your stock fork isn't clear, but I will say that it doesn't sound like a job for carbon. If you're abusing the bike like that, maybe a new Project 2 would be a better choice.

Im just saying that occasionally in cx I crash. :) Fall over sideways, get taken out by another rider, forget to unclip a foot when dismounting, overcook my turns, et al.

look at the last two forks used on the major jake, alpha Q and a easton ec-90, both are great forks, I feel that arguing which is better is a practice in splitting hairs. My only complaint of the ec-90 is that the lawyer lips are huge and it takes a long time to file them flat. I don't worry about the fork rake, from my expereince when I upgraded with a fork that had a little more rake, was the fork corrected almost every bad habit the bike had in ways I just can't explain and didn't seem to make sense. it was like night and day. Just make sure the pull the fork out and inspect the stearer tube and crown after you take a spill.
