As I'm going through the "doner" bikes I currently have and stripping them, I came across an old Fake Colnago that has some pretty nice parts. When I gave it a quick wipe down I saw a decal on the chain stay that read "Colnero Super." I know I've read something about these bikes but I just can't find it again. It's has some weird details that I just don't get. For example; it has over the BB cable routing and yet has Shimano Vertical dropouts and non recessed brakes. The components put it somewhere in the late 70s. I post pics once I'm done stripping it tonight. When did Shimano come out with vertical dropouts?

are you sure it's not "Colner" without the "o"...that's the only spelling I've seen. They also often have a spade rather than a club cut-out motif (as a real Colnago does). Not sure about Shimano VERTICAL DOs, but late '70s seems about right...there were short horizontals as early as mid-70s.

It's "Colnero" for sure. Colner; that's what I remember now. I'm having trouble getting the Pics to my computer....damn Vista. I'll have the pics up soon I hope.

Here are the pics. The seat post size is 27.2. The BB shell width is 68mm. Let me know what you guys think, as I'm going to be taking a trip to our recycling center and dropping off all my stripped POS frame sets soon. Probably too many pics for a junker, but due to what it had; you never know.

Judging by the workmanship, I'm pretty sure it's neither a Colnago nor a Colner. The 68mm BB width indicates it's not Italian threading.

It's been stripped of everything as I need to catalog everything before the packers come.:D

Agreed, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Japanese, but since you're in Belgium...who knows what that is! Parts are nicer than the frame...

Yup. I wonder why people put such nice parts on such frames.
