As I was riding through downtown, on my way to the Dry Creek Trail, I ran into two bicycle taxis ... !!! Took me totally by surprise! I never even knew that we had bicycle taxis in town. They just started offering service recently. Here is a picture of one of the bicycle taxis:

Your pictures aren't there for me.

The pedicabs can come and go pretty fast- either they'll make decent money or they won't.
I understand they used to have some in Dallas, but no longer do.
I've seen them in Houston near the ballpark, I guess shuttling people from cars to the park or something- a fairly small area.

Yeah, I can see them too.

I've seen pedicab-type bikes on Craiglist and thought that would be a cool part-time job. Pedal all day and get paid for it! It might get old after a while, but if you had maybe 5 pedicabs and 10 people to man them on the weekends, it might work.

Insurance is very expensive! $3,000.00 per/year for each pedicab here in Modesto, California! No cost for gas though. And if you do the maintenance yourself, might not cost that much in the long run to maintain a couple of pedicabs.
