Those rails marked MG are actually a high strength steel (easily confirmed with a magnet). They only add 10-15 grams of weight compared to the the more expensive Ti railed models. I've got Fizik Gobis with both types. Kium has to be a steel since it's also magnetic.

Mg is the chemical symbol for magnesium. But, if they don't have a chemist/metallurgist on staff, they might also have meant Mn - manganese. Either/or - it makes for a very strong steel alloy.

Could be just an alloy with a percentage of steel. Stainless steel can be magnetic.
