Fifty Plus (50+) - Cycling Related Tattoo

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Can't say why just yet, but was wondering who among us 50+ers has a cycling related tattoo and can show a photo of it.
Does this count?:D

Not me but I have had more than I would like.
Mine aren't cycling related. Just related to my heritage.
You'll find lots of pics in the SS/FG or just do a general BF search.

Tattooing my glorious body would be analogous to splashing Michelangelo's David with red spray paint.

It's probably stretching things a bit, but when I ride, my lower-leg tattoos are exposed... that's about as close as I get to "cycling related". Here's a photo of the backs of 'em:

If it helps any, the tattooist is a l-o-n-g--t-i-m-e bicyclist: road, track, and trail ("Painless" Jimmy, at Louie Lombi's Tattoo Paradise (http://www.tattooparadise.com/))

Looks OK to me.
I believe it says, "Man's Ruin."
The "n" is written in script exactly the way I was taught to write an N; notice that the N in "ruin" is written the same way.
Not sure what's wrong with the apostrophe. "Man" is possessive, gets an apostrophe.
By the way, apostrophe is not spelled apostrephe. :)
BTW, I don't think the owner of those calves would let the tattoo artist get away with a misspelling...

Women, gambling, drugs, alcohol and (is that a hot dog with mustard in the upper left corner?) overeating - Man's Ruin. I think that's fairly clear. Perhaps better suited for a t-shirt than the back of one's calf, but to each his own.

There is (or was - it's been a while since I was there) a wrench at a bike shop in Boulder Colorado who had a gorgeous old style campy logo tattooed on his ankle. The name of the bike shop was Vecchio's which is an appropriate name for this forum!

OK, you all have been of very modest help. :innocent:
But I have found a site with a few "interesting" examples.

Still looking for some on 50+ folks.

Nope - the one that I saw was much smaller and more discrete, and was the old style logo with the bicycle wheel and the wings - and the guy who has it is a 50+ cyclist! -- Although I have seen and heard of a couple of Campy tattoos, I have never heard of anybody tattooing SHIMANO on their bodies....
Is this it?

I'll bet it is this one from the same page. Peter from Vecchio's built a great set of wheels for me a few years back.

No, but not going to remove this one to ad the new one either.
BTW our local league affiliaed club still uses Wheelmen in it's name.

I was in favor of the change but the old LAW logos are cooler than anything LAB.

That big lower leg "Campy" logo above looks more like a temporary tattoo used for advertising during a pro cycling race. With all the other adds plastered all over that bike frame, the riders legs are the only thing with space left to sell. Temp tattoos are really popular on pro beach volleyball players (although smaller than what's shown above).
The would be cool to get a small tattoo of an old bicycle company logo. Maybe an old Schwinn logo since I'm here in the USA. Hmmm . . let me think about that . . .

I'd love to have some cool TEMP tatoos that were bicycling related, just for laughs.
But in answer to the question "Where would you get a tatoo" my answer is always "On someone else."

A lot of those were pretty crummy looking. And what's with hairy guys who get tattoos and then let the hair grow back over it? If you're going to decorate your body, then make the effort to keep it shaven as well. BTW, I think tattoos are incredibly cool myself, but that's just me. :thumb:

I am currently in Austin TX and am amazed at the number of people working in the LBS's that have a lot of tattoos. That includes several gals with full sleeves.

I agree, but things change and move on. Remember ride patches with the winged wheel, bata biker shoes, and Bell biker helmets?
