I think im gonna have to buy a new pump cus the one im using is forcing me to push the valve at an angle thus resulting in tears at the btm of the valve. damnt. money i dont need to spend.

I experienced ripping a presta valve while pumping up a relatively new tube (Bontrager) on my road bike. The replacement tube (Specialized) came with a nut that keeps the tube from sliding back into the rim while pumping it up. I don't know why all of the presta tubes don't come with these nuts, as it would seem a simple way to prevent this very problem. Maybe, instead of buying a new pump, you need to look for this feature on the replacement tubes?

yeah, i know what you are talking about. in both cases i had the nut in place holding the valve and it still ripped.

Oh well. I guess if you think about it, the exterior nut should help prevent stresses from pushing in on the tube valve, but not stresses from pulling on the tube valve.

Tubes simply don't last forever. I put thousands of commuting miles a year on my ten-year-old Jamis Dakota that I don't even ride off-road and I believe the tube rubber ages and weakens around the valve stem and breaks. I have to replace tubes every other season whether they get punchured or not.

Well, I'm not sure if you know this or not, the nut on the valve should not be on there while you are riding. If your bike takes a big impact or under hard braking the tube will try to slide. If you have the nut on there it does not give it any room to move around.
