Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Taking 2 Peugeot's to the swap meet..

I'm thinking about taking these 2 bikes to the swap meet in Westminster, Md. on Feb.8. Just wondering how bikes sell at these meets and what I should try to get for them. I'm really looking forward to my first meet. I'll probably spend a little dough, but have alot of fun..I'm still on the fence about keeping the
PSN10.

85 Peugeot PSN10 Super Vitus 980 frame and fork. w/ Campy Triomphe group, looks to be all original components:

Sadly a PSN just like that sold on ebay for low $200's while a much lesser Ventoux sold for upper $200's. There's no rhyme or reason for why that happened. The PSN was poorly advertised with crappy picture so that may have had something to do with it.

I wouldnt let the PSN go for a dime less than $200. Heck, parted out the frameset could bring $200.

Your P18 looks to be in excellent condition. Again, prices are all over the map...$50-150

Thanks Jim, yes the P18 is in great shape, very low miles. The PSN has been ridden alot and I believe came from someone who knew a little about bikes. I'm watching this one on E-Bay. It is identical to mine. I just want someone to appreciate what it is and take care of it. The basement is a little full right now and had to pick something to go.

When I went to the swap meet last year there were a decent amount of bikes for sale there. Tons of great deals too, but as with anything there were some bikes that were overpriced. If you are going to sell either of the bikes, find your price you are willing to let them go for and stick to it. Especially with the PSN because everyone is trying to get deals so haggling over price is part of the process. I will be going back again this year. I had a great time and I scored a lot of good deals.

Yep, I do not have to sell either one so I can bring them home just as easy as I took them there. I'll be doing some of my own haggling I sure..

Branden, that same bike failed to meet reserve with a high bid of $202 a week ago. It'll be interesting to see what it goes for if the reserve is met.

Wow, at least he thinks highly of it. You don't see many vintage bikes with reserves placed on them. It will be fun to watch what happens..

Gee, that PSN10 is the most beautiful Peugeot I've ever seen. That color is great. What size is that frame (please measure by the seat tube, center bb to top seat tube). Thanks

Hi rocco, It measures 58 from center to top and the top tube is 57 from center to center. Now your making it hard for me to get rid of talking like that. It had yellow bar tape when I got it, but the light brown looks alot better.

The reserve has been met on this one...It's going pretty high..HMMM should I consider E-Bay??? Actually mine may already be sold...
