Triathlon - Help with offer price

for a quintana roo lucero ti. i know someone selling a brand new ti lucero which retails at 3000 and she said she didn't expect that high. so she won the frame in a race and now is selling it. So what would be a good offering price you think?
if i get it ill put a DA 7800 groupo on it with vision aero bars and chris king headset

I would start at $1500 and wouldn't go over $1800 but that's just me.

Just the frame? or a full bike?
If just the frame offer $1,000......go as high as $1,500. Unless youreally want it....Ti is cool. but Carbon is cheaper. Think it through.:thumb:

yeah just the frame....and alright sounds good. i was thinking about 1500. I am trying not to spend a lot

She wouldnt go lower than 2200. I tried for 2000 and she said no.

Dude walk away.You can get another bike new with warranty and have local bike shop support for that coin...Unless you really want ti and it fits like a glove? what else she giving Headset, cranks,seatpost? Remember FIT is the Priority......

Is this thing even the right size for you? Walk away, don't buy it. Discount is not good enough for no LBS to go back and complain about issues to.

That's all bs. The important part about any frame is how it fits you. Of lessor importance is how it feels riding especially the stiffness and comfort. An especially stiff frame may not be so comfortable for you.

It's hard buying just a frame without test riding. And often test rides are misleading becuause of wheels and other components.

yeah thats what i have noticed since ive started looking, but its hard to test ride when no one has a frame in your size

this is a funny thread.

A. Titanium is cool; unless you care about weight and aerodynamics; then it's a fairly mediocre frame material. You're on a way better track with a carbon felt.

B. Carbon is pretty much carbon. There are some exceptions, usually on the lower end, but the fit on Felt vs. Scott is very different.


Personally, I've bought a felt but I wouldn't touch Scott with a 10 ft. pole.
