"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - Could this be true?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I just got back into training, gave up the cigs, set up the p-tap on the tt-bike-the usual stuff that cyclists do in prep for training. I got on the trainer last night and just wanted to get my lt test done, major surprise.
I finished last year pushing about 5.25 w/kg, or 320 watts. Last night, I didn't even get into LTHR and am putting out 5.33 w/kg.
I have been commuting to work and doing low cadence hard gear workouts to build strength, because I was lacking there last year, but would that account for the gain- lack of loss- in power over the winter.
I am confused and hopefully can find a good explanation for it, or maybe I just need to reset my ptap, lol
here's the graph:
did you zero the torque?
test time is only 15 minutes, seems too short to be utilized for FTP setting, but are you comparing a 15' test for your last year 5.25 w/kg @320W with this recent one?

It didn't work for me. Maybe I was doing it wrong. I inhaled. A lot.

torque looks really high... maybe mine's really low...
Your race results dont lie Patrick, though. Clearly you've got skillz, regardless of what the pTap says.
Chapeau!!

Damn-were you ever caught with a wet stain on the front of your pants? well it kinda feels like that, I had a different hub and cpu, that were not calibrated. Feel like an eejit!!
I am 40 watts below that, still, it's higher than at the start of last year. I just got off the trainer and hoped no one had replied to this thread so that I could delete it-I've got a huge ego.
BTW Leo I have been following your workouts and they got me motivated-looks like you and KP will be forces to be reckoned with this year, maybe we can do something at Battenkill.
