I've been experiencing knee pain for about three weeks now. I rode my C'dale cyclocross (with road tires) and my Trek 520 for about 1000 miles now and the pain seems to come at 10-12 miles into the ride. The first time I experienced it, I continued to ride, hoping it would subside. It didn't. I have suffered pain since, with 50% relief if I keep the miles very low: 10 miles. I've adjusted the seat, bars, the tension on my clipless pedals, and nothing. Could it be the shoes I'm using? I'm using the Specialized Body Geometry MTB shoes--regular spd pedals. These shoes have a built-in footpad that is ergonomically sound, supposedly. I have no other answers. I searched the forums for similar problems, and most suggest seat adjustment and float. What would you all suggest? Thanks for the tips to come.

have a full fit done at your bike shop. the shoes would not cause knee pain except in as much as they might have raised or lowered the stack hight compared to your older shoes and cleats [a couple of mm can make a big difference]. it could also be the angle of the cleats though, to be honest, if you were toe-ing in or out too much, you'd probably feel the discomfort mostly in your lower leg and feet.
