Hello,

I often do touring with my MTB, and since I have to change my old saddle, I'd like to hear your opinion about the saddle I should purchase. Actually, my goal is to find a saddle light enough, profiled, beautiful AND the most important : a saddle that wouldn't hurt my butt after the sixth hour of enjoyment ;)
The problem with my current saddle is that riding during 8 hours a day causes way too much pain on my butt ... almost unbearable ... really ! I get almost paralyzed the day after :(

Thanks for sharing your knowledge ! ;)
Have a nice day.

BTW, I've forgotten to say that I'm a guy and that I usually like to ride in an "energic fashion", which means that the saddle shouldn't be in the way during jumps or whatever.

Thanks again.

Me again ... I've seen another thread on this subject, but I'd like to avoid Brooks saddles if possible.
I find them ugly and they don't correspond to my riding style.

What about this one ? : http://www.wiggle.co.uk/?ProductID=5360011078

Don't know of many touring cyclists that do a lot of "jumping" on their bikes. Have you looked at ALL the Brooks saddles that Brooks makes before pronouncing them "ugly" and not corresponding to your style of riding? They make outstanding off-road MTB saddles and more.

Check out their Conquest model.

BTW, that saddle you have the link to... that's a racing saddle and is actually amazingly unattractive to my eyes... so go figure.

Keep in mind that when your butt is on the saddle you can't see what it looks like and for the most part, neither can anyone else.

Personally, I could not care one bit how my Brooks saddles make my bike look because they make my butt feel so good.

I ride the fizik--not comfortable at all. That's probably why I don't ride my road bike that much. Maybe put on two pairs of riding shorts, and adjust the seat accordingly.

Cheers
