i am nearing the end of my new bike build, and have a few questions about bike fitting.

1. i am going to schedule a bike fitting fairly soon, and was wondering what shops in either minneapolis, madison, or milwaukee would be best for a good fitting. (i live and work between these cities, so any location near them be fine)

2. i have held off buying a stem and seatpost as i don't want to have to buy twice. since i have never been fit, i don't know if good fitters have sample sizes or adjustable pieces to check angles and lengths while you are being fit or if i need to have these before i go with the bike fully built. like i said, i don't want to have to rebuy parts post fitting.

i'm not so worried about spending a hundred or two on a fitting since i am spending a large amount on the build and want to get the most out of it. i spend a lot of time on my bike, and plan on racing regularly this year, so any shops you could recommend that are more geared towards this type of customer would be appreciated.

thanks!

I'd recommend Cronometro (http://www.cronometro.com/biodynamicfittings.html) in Madison.

Heard good things about them. I also like Bike Doctor in Dousman (western Waukesha county) -- assuming the Doc does the fit.

Larry Foss @ The Fix (http://www.thefixstudio.com/My_Homepage_Files/Page6.html).

I spend a few hours a week there this winter and his set up is impressive.

Any good fitter will have a full selection of stems and seatposts....
