Bicycle Mechanics - Where to get plastic clips for bike child seat?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I have an old bicycle child seat, that has the usual nylon straps that end in those plastic push-in clips. The clips are so old, that when I pushed in one and then the other, they each broke off as neatly as you please.
Anyone know where to get such things?
Metal clips are OK too, I can adapt things to fit. Probably be easier if I get both ends: the push-in part and the receiver part.

So you have a child bike seat that's so old and had so much use that one key part has fatigued and broken. Every other part on that bike seat has the same amount of age and use. What makes you think that none of the other parts are nearing the end of their lifespan?
I'm not real big on child bike seats at best. I'm thinking that if you love that child the bare minimum you should consider is replacing the whole baby seat.

What you are looking for is a side-lock buckle and they are available in various widths from any place that sells camping or backpacking equipment. REI is a good source and Dicks or Sports Authority may also have them. Look in the camping section.
However, RG makes an excellent point. If that buckle was so weathered and brittle it broke, what is the condition of the rest of the shell and fittings?
I'm also leary of bike mounted child seats. They are high and place a lot of weight where it has a bad effect on the bike's handling as well as carrying some of the most fragile cargo imaginable. The newest, strongest, safest designs are barely adequate.

Yep, RG and the others are right.

Please listen to the others, replace that thing or go to a trailer. The buckles snapped due to the natural and inevitable degradation of plastic by Ultra Violet (UV) radiation. Nearly all plastic does this. Bet you could break off more parts by just giving them a good twist or tug.

To answer your question, Hobby Lobby or Michaels, JoAnn, etc. has them. Hobby Lobby for sure. My kid breaks them on his booster seat by being too aggressive trying to clip them in himself.

You'll find them in the "notions" section near sew-on velcro, zippers, and D-rings.
