-Missing an opportunity to see Tony Bennett live in Vegas.
-Not having an opportunity to tour the Yuengling brewery because it was being fumigated at the time.

I don't think it really counts as a regret if you didn't have any control over it.

Giving away my "Who" concert tickets (that I slept in parking lot to get) to a friend who was getting married on that day. I was young and stupid and thought it was an "omen" that he should go to the concert. Never thought about it not being a good day for a concert (not to mention he was not as big of a fan, and too drunk to remember it).

Point taken. Dude, I regret not gettin' in there. I'll get out there again, eventually.

Nah, not that. The exposure to chemicals after the Methyl Bromide fumigation, on the other hand, probably.

Way back when, a friend got free tickets to a sneak preview of some new movie called "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and asked if I wanted to go. I thought it was going to be some lame Star Wars clone, so I declined. http://media.scout.com/media/forums/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

Which Who concert? I went to one that was a post Keith Moon stadium concert. Maybe it was the time of Face Dances. I was a big Who fan then.

Weird...the "quote reply" didn't work. I had to manually enter the quoted text.

Anywho (pun intended), the concert was then their supposed farewell tour or however they billed it. It was in 1989 or so I think.

Their first Farewell Tour was in about 1982, and I went to it. It was great. :p

Yeah....that would have been great. Still in their prime. This was after they were a bit old.

Did you see them on that honors show on VH1 a few months ago? Wow......sad. :(

for getting pissy with boyfriend at the time and missing ELO (outta the blue with the spaceship) concert.
for missing out on David Bowie's Spiders from mars concert

and

for missing out on Pink Floyd's The Wall concert in NYC. My friends had a blast.

oh yeah and can't forget

for being wasted at a earth, wind & fire concert that also featured Fleetwood Mac when Stevie's voice was still perfect. waste of a fantastic concert

I saw them twice on that tour. First at Rich Stadium in Buffalo with the Clash opening. I was about 15 ft from the stage. Still one of my favorite alltime concerts.

Yeah it was tough enough without Keith Moon but to not have Entwistle as well.....sad. Daltrey's voice seemed pretty shot too.

- turning down the offer to write for a movie that ended up winning an Academy Award because I thought the director was "just another film-student kid."

- leaving San Francisco and my advertising agency job back in '81 to "go back East to college."

- saying "no" that one time to "do you want to come in for a cup of tea?"

- not sticking with the band when the Mateus money ran out in Brattleboro.

all these concert stories reminded me - as a kid, I wanted to see Black Sabbath in the worst way and when they got back with Ozzy in 78 I was just old enough to go. we sent our one friend to get tickets but he somehow loused up and they sold out. Instead he got tickets to see Boston. Boston was fine and all but I was so bummed I didn't even go.

Van Halen opened on that BS tour, following their first LP release...Was never a huge VH fan but that first LP is still their best imo, and I would have liked to have seen them breaking out nation wide. By all accounts they stole the entire tour, which is not too hard to imagine given youth/energy/ambition, comparatively speaking.....

I've had a few other bad breaks with concerts, notably Shane MacGowan getting kicked out of the Pogues after I'd gotten tickets, but before the show......Joe Strummer filled in, but it's not quite the Pogues without SM. I also had tix to see Albert King shortly before he died. Bummer.

I had a choice once of hitting on Annie Lennox or Debbie Harry. I with I would have gone for Blondie.

One of my recent regrets is not asking the cute office assistant that worked in our office out for lunch or a coffee when I had the chance. She later met up with a (appears to be) good guy 'cause she didn't mess around behind his back. I tried asking her out later when I had come to my senses but it was too late. :(

Ha funny. That was the beginning of farewell tours for the 60's bands only to see them show up two years later for another farewell tour. Kind of like Brett Farve.

I saw the Rolling Stones too on their "first" farewell tour.
