Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. When would you make an adjustment? Just wondering, because I have heard everything from "never" to "after a year or so". Some of you Brooks die hards speek up! :)
Many experts say NEVER. A lot of people screw up there saddle by adjusting it to much. The company says to give it 1/4 turn per year I believe. I have never adjusted either of mine although they are only about 9 months old.

Ranger is about right. I have two of them that have 25 years of age and I have tightened one of them 4-5 years ago.
Basically, unless it has stretched a lot or, if you prefer, unless you feel you sit on the rails, you probably should leave it as is.
Another trick I have done with one saddle is to lace both sides of the skirt together. It prevents the skirt from widening under load and from chafing the legs, and it also adds some rigidity to the saddle. Mines have a few holes on the sides, however, so I didn't have to pierce the saddle.

Never to a little tweek every half a century or so sounds about right.
Best advice I can give concerning a Brooks Spanner (or the better
quality VAR tool) is put it in your tool box, let it slowly work its way
to the bottom and forget about it.
In about 5 or 6 years you will eventually run across it, then you might
give the saddle about 1/8 turn.

That's 50 years, not miles. In case you were wondering.

Marty;
You forgot the weight factor!!! If you weigh over 200# you should tighten about 3/16's turn every 5 ot 6 years. ;)
