Electric Bikes - Who is braving the snow on a bike??

Just curious, because of the hills and the amount of snow here.
And lack of daylight, warmth, etc. I have not ridden my Chrystalite equiped
bike for a while.
So who out there is riding, and how are you braving the elements, the longer hours of
darkness, and the lack of traction and control????

I have been doing some commuting to work by non-electric bike this winter. My ebike ,with and without the Bionx system it has, is too valuable to submit to -30C and the salt and sand they use in these parts. Although I am very curious about how much fun it would be to ride in deep snow.

Yup, cold, snow, hills (glacial moraines) but generally well plowed streets. Just gotta wait for the slush to dry up, then, I'm out. Being retired, it isusually for a cup of coffee and a bagel. SLA batts hate the cold, X5 doesn't care, until Spring, what's the choice? Elements? I have a fully faired delta trike, open on the bottom for my big feet and openings on the side for sharp turns, but better than sitting exposed. Warm clothes and lots of hard pedaling do keep me warm, but I know it's not as cold here as in Alberta, nor as much snow. Could be worse, though, couldn't it?

Still have over 2 feet of snow on ground, but it was +4C today, and
then it rained tonight!!

yup. I'm still biking thru the winter. Except when it snows more than about 2 cm and they haven't plowed. It is a bit more treacherous. I've got studded front tire that I swap out with a regular mtn bike tire when its nicer.

oh, as for darkness, I've got a helmet mounted front light, helmet mounted read light, and racktop bag mounted rear light.

BTW, having an electric motor really helps out when your derailleur freezes. gets me to work without having to shower too.

This winter has been an easy one in Philadelphia, but I have ridden on snow and ice in the streets a little bit this year.

In years past, I've ridden through the winter on very snowy roads in Philadelphia, Montreal, and Anchorage.

I really, truly prefer biking to the alternatives, even in winter.

Haven't ridden an e-bike in the snow yet though.

I couldn't bike the whole of January here in Toronto. It snowed, got cold, snowed again. The roads just werem't safe.

No February is here, I've ridden to work everyday (so far) with my fingers crossed.
