i need the long presta valve tubes for the wheels i ride. i currently ride velomax circuits. i have a few tubes wiht the shorter vale. can i buy a valve extender and use the shorter valve tubes? how long do the valves have to be, i have bought some 60mm ones that are way too long. how many sizes are there? i have seen 48mm. will these work on my rims. any help appreciated. thanks, train hard.

welcome macdonald50....
yes they do have different lengths in stems, just go to your lbs and tell them what you have, I am sure they can set you up with the proper tube.
BTW the one you already have with the stem that is too long would probably work if you secure it with the nut included. If it worries you just use it as a spare...

for circuits you'll need 28mm extenders, though any should work
