I know this might seem kinda wack to yall but I am just getting back into bikes since the late eighties and i am out of the loop. I remember quality names back in the days like Dyno, GT, Redline, Kuwahara, Haro, Torker, Mongoose and a few others. I bought a bike from this dude for 20 buck cus he didn't ride bikes, it is a Pacific Cyclone. Is this a cheap bike? It needs work like new brakes, tires and grips. If the bike is worth it ,I don't know what brands of parts are good anymore. should I start over with a new bike? I'm too old to start doing serious tricks and all that but I want a nice bike. can anyone suggest anything? one more thing. I see that a lot of bikes have taller tires on them nowadays, what purpose do the taller tires serve? thanks

is it worth it?

if the tires hold air and the brakes work and you can pedal it around without parts falling off, ride it. when stuff starts to break, replace it.....

All those quality brands you mentioned, aren't quality (anymore).

quality is relative.

you say you are too old to start doing tricks but you want a nice bike....

if your not doing stunts and just pedaling around, any old bike will work.

I've had the same two Haro Group 1's
since the mid-nineties ..
.. Quality? Yeah, I think so.
