Mountain Biking - Your favorite trail

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My favorite place to ride right now is Camp Thunder in the middle part of Georgia. It is a Big rocky hill that is laced with trails. Hair raising, feel like you are about to endo descents and punishing inclines where you are gripping your bar as hard as you can to keep your front wheel down. All the rocks keep in dry even when it rains. It is alway mud-free. We have about 25 miles and almost no one bikes there. :thumb:
What is your favorite place to ride?
I like the Rattlesnake Nat'l Recreation Area. Nothing crazy, but it's lots of good singletrack.
And the trails start 3 miles from my door. That's so awesome.
My favorite stretch of trail in the system is Three Larches/Sheep Mountain trail.
Agh, winter..... I want to ride.

Oh yes...Syllamo trail network in Eureka Spr. It's on my "to do" list.
Got some killah ratings on MBA a couple yrs ago. They have a pretty nice Fat Tire Fest of some sort.

Where are you from rocco? I'm at NCSU and head out there to ride a lot. Doing the race out there sunday?
Anyways, my favorite trail is Kanuga, Paris Mountain, SC.
Its the flowiest, fastest, funnest (yes, FUNNEST) trail I've ever ridden. Paris Mountain is also where I "discovered" mountain biking thanks to some friends I used to work with. Kind of a special place for me now.
If your in middle Ga, come on up to the ATL!!! We have some Awsome trail systems! Im sure you have heard of most of them, but I myself love FT Yargo.:thumb:

That would be Noble Canyon actually, definitely a contender. The combination of Sunrise/Big Boulder/2nd Divide/First Divide near Downieville is one of my favorites, but so is Porcupine Rim near Moab, Colorado Trail/Engineer Mtn Trail near Durango, Reno/Flag/Bear near Crested Butte, Monarch Crest/Rainbow near Salida, Tahoe Rim Trail as well as others, some can't be mentioned...so many trails, hard to pick just one :D

Dark mountain is a fun spot to ride but that list on singletracks is a joke. The've got the Left and right loops at Tsali as #5 and #8......:roflmao2:

Yeah, we were there during the Fat Tire Festival....stayed at a place called the Tall Pines Inn. Beautiful and the city was awesome. The whole town is tourist based. I don't think there is a single residence that isn't also a B&B. The owners of the Tall Pines Inn (Robert and Carmen) are mtb'ers and told me where all the best trails to stay away from the racers were. 51 miles of riding over three days. Best trails I have ever ridden. Coolest town I have ever been to. The mtb vibe is everywhere. You have to go

I've been on the trails behind UC Santa Cruz (Calif.), haven't done them all yet but they are FUN in the redwoods, lots of singletracks with log jumps and tree roots.
Also been to Downieville, did the route that is the "Downieville Downhill"; Bucher Ranch, 1st/2nd Divides and more, they rocked. Best part is the $20 van ride to the top for 15 miles of downhilling, then landing right into downtown Downieville, very little climbing.

I'd say it's a toss up between Shawn's Trail or Scorpion at Galbraith Mtn. Wish I had some pics.
+1 on Galbraith! A shot of Shawn's from RideGalbraith (http://www.ridegalbraith.com):

I'd link more but I'm not sure which ones are Shawn's, Scorpion, 911, etc. BTW, where is this? I don't think I've seen this one yet:
