I'm enjoying a bottle of 1996 Robert Mondavi Cabernet... what about you?

Water for now- I have too much programming to do for an analysis I'm doing for a paper I have to get out on Monday. After 10pm tonight is another story, of course- it's Maker's Mark time!

I'll have to try that. Having never tried any Mondavi up 'til a couple of months ago, I became immediately hooked on their Fume Blanc.
Tonight is beer night for me, however. I got a Deschutes Anniversary Wit for dinner and a Stone IPA for after dinner.

Rip Van Winkle Bourbon
How does that compare to...say....Early Times Special Reserve?
It was a gift, but it is very nice. I am not much of a bourbon drinker, so I cannot say how it compares to other bourbons, as I do not drink them very often. Generally drink single malt scotch along the lines of Oban or The Dalmore. I do not like the peaty scotches.
The Rip Van Winkle has a very sharp bouquet, and a nice warm flavor. You can really smell and taste the wood in it.
Here is a review. I took the advice of the reviewer and added a splash of water. Funnily, even before reading that review, I wanted to say it had a sweetish finish, and caramel is exactly the word to describe it.

I was just making fun of the Early Times brand. :)
When it comes to scotch, I've tried several things and have always come back to Glenmorangie 10 year. Very sweet finish, if that's what you like. I've also heard that 10 years is when a single-malt peaks, despite the availability of higher-priced, older scotches.
I seldom drink anything over 12

City tap water.
I seldom drink with anyone over 12Ah, drinking at the kids' table. Good times.

Yeah- that's a good one (the Glenmorangie, not Early Times). Another sweet one is Macallan's 12- simply awesomeness.
The blood of my latest victim.Mix it with a bit of the sweat of a thousand virgins, and serve it over ice. C'est magnifique!
Spiced rum, maybe.
me too, with diet coke and lime

which one? my favorite DFH beer was the 90 minute IPA...especially when they put it in the 750ml bottle...it's still good in the 12oz, but not the same.
