Does anyone know of a U.S. importer for the stuff, what's available, etc.? I've heard they offer standard diameter tubing in heavier than the .9/.6/.9 stuff that seems to be the heaviest TrueTemper makes...

Crazy expensive tubing - almost $50 per tube for regular 4130, and $100/tube for heat treated. Most places charge 1/5 - 1/4 as much for similar stuff.

If you want thicker than .9/.6, you could always go with 1.0 straight gauge. Dirt cheap and should be strong as heck.
