ive just received my 24v 250watt my1018 motor,controller + throttle
im running 2x12v 14amp sla batts in series..
ive hooked all of the 7 wires(2xbatt,2xmotor,3xthrottle) together..
when i twist the throttle nothing happens..
ive checked the battery(25.7v)charged.
+ i pumped 12v thru the motor,that worked fine
so that leaves me with the throttle(which im not sure how to test
or the controller is faulty...is there a way to test the controller:twitchy:
i suspect the controller,i think normally when you connect the battery plug with the controller
a spark should occur,right or wrong
any one with any advice would be great....

to test the controller, I would suggest getting a volt meter from a local hardware store, hooking the controller to the battery, then test the connections coming out of the controller to see if they get a voltage.

ok i will try that..
so when ive hooked the batteries to the controller,should i test the wires that would go to the motor?

ive just tried testing the motor outlet of the controller and my voltmeter sits at 0.0
so it looks like a faulty controller

any time! thats one of the ways I test things at the store. does the controller have any switches on it?

my 24v 250watt brushed controller doesnt have a swith on it....
all up there is 7 connecters...
motor,battery,throttle,brake,key ignition,charger+i think lights....
oatleyelectronics.com state that i only need 3 0f them,motor,battery + the throttle
which makes sense.but the other connections are optional.
i have emailed them in regards to my problem,just waiting for a response...

in your experience(is it woth it to attempt to fix it my self)or should i not go there..
if it has warranty, go through the company you got it from. they sent you one that doesnt work, that is their bad, and they should take care of it.

Reading the symptoms I can't help but think this might be caused by the absence of the brake cut off levers. Could this controller be cutting off the voltage to the motor by default because it does not detect a working brake lever cut off switch?
I tried googling this, but didn't find much on this. Hard to do without the controller model.

Make sure the ignition key is shorted. The key open will disable the controller.
That I believe is your issue.

the model of the controller is (CT-302s9)...24v 250watt brushed controller
im still waiting for a email from oatleyelectronics.regarding warranty
if i dont get a new replacment,then i will try out the shorting the ignition
is this easily done..
tomorrow i will post some pics of all the wiring i have done,so if anyone can spot a fault i have done
please let me know,

the person who mentioned shorting the ignition wires was right:D
after reading over the wiring diagram,this was also mentioned..
but since im new to this,i just didnt understand properly..
now i do....
i am now going to install the this kit to my bike thanks again guys...
