Bicycle Mechanics - wheel out of whack

Hiya everyone,
The rear wheel on my old Peugeot 10 speed has started rubbing against the frame. Is there some kind of bearing that I should be looking to replace or is there some adjustment that I can make?
Thanks,
Sheldon

It may no longer be straight in the dropouts. See this thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=50461).
Is it rubbing constantly, or just once with each revolution of the wheel?

Possibly a snapped spoke???

Well, good news is that I loosened the bolt holding the wheel to the frame, re-positioned it, and re-tightened. The wheel now lines up okay but I can still move it 1/8" or more side to side. I'm not sure which is the next step. At least I can use the bike now but don't know what to replace/fix.

glad you figured out why is was rubbing the frame. the wheel still moves side to side because the hub is out of adjustment. you'll need cone wrenches to fix it, if you dont have them you should take it to a bike shop.
