Northeast - Twitter feed: NYC Bridge Conditions

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Transportation Alternatives has started a Twitter feed, @nycbridgereport (http://twitter.com/nycbridgereport), reporting on the conditions of bridges for cycling this winter.

I was just thinking that something like this would finally be genuinely good reason reason to sign up for a Twitter account. Thanks!

Rob, Twitter.com is basically a personalized newsfeed or mini blog. You set up an account and people can subscribe. I followed Garmin, Armstrong and Hincapie during the Tour of California. That was kinda cool.

Twitter is email based or text messaged?

It's web based but you can also have it sent as a text message to your phone. There's Twitterberry for Blackberry and several apps for iPhone, but I think you may be able post to twitter via email too.
