I came here looking for advice for NOOBs, but see that this forum has no stickies!

Hubby and I are going to pick up our new Trek T900 this Friday. He will always be pilot; my 10-year old step daughter will sometimes be stoker. At other times, I will be stoker.

We have already agreed that we want to get involved with the groups for the VI (visually impared). However, we don't have any idea how to engage with them.

Also, hubby :love:loves:love: being pilot and the kiddo :love:loves:love: being stoker. Me, not so much (yet) but I'm hopeful. :)

We would appreciate any advice you have for any of us as we are all 3 NOOBs to tandem-ing. Maybe we could make this thread a sticky? :thumb:

First...welcome to tandem cycling..you already know how much fun it is..the good news is - it only gets better.
For info, this site is contains an endless amount of information so use the search function for anything you can think of and you will find answers or at least a lot of opinions to sort through. For an even wider range of info, Thetandemlink.com referenced above, with its' many links/articles is just an incredible resource.
Good luck and have fun!

Welcome to the club!!! I've learned a lot by reading posts on this forum on a regular basis.

I suggest looking for schools for the VI. One of the captains in this area arranged with their recreation/athletic director for us to ride with students at the school. During warm weather, we will ride about once per month in the afternoon - after their school day ends. The school also has a summer camp where we'll spend much of a day there, riding with camp participants. Good Luck!

I think a sticky for Noobs would be a great idea. This link would be a very good start.

I nominate Tandem Geek and ZonaTandem to craft the appropriate intro thread or threads to be made stickies.
