bought a pista on ebay and want to put a front brake on. bought a shimano 105 front caliper (new) and the threaded rod that mounts the brake to the fork is too long so i cannot tighten it enough (the brake slides back and forth). tried a spacer washer but it looks goofy. any advice? is there a brake out there with a shorter bolt? thanks!

which year pista? my old roommate had a pista with a 105.. worked fine

2008 - i think - the fork is 1 inch in thick

its drilled and countersunk for the right bolt - the fork is just not thick enough front to back to use the standard 105 brake I got

There is supposed to be at least one spacer on there for keeping the brake caliper aligned.

tried the spacer - its not enough - the caliper still slides back and forth by 1/8"

Add 1 more spacer/washer and it should be fine.

i bought this. put a rubber spacer on, works fine. put it on an 08' Pista. no problems at all. i used a black rubber foot from a big muff pi. can't really see it over the caliper. i am sure you can find something that is almost not noticeable from Home Depot or Lowes.
