Bottom of the pond, in the yard, or wherever I've thrown it last after it lied to me.

Ours is under a dresser in the bedroom. I step on it once a week that way. If it's in the bathroom I'm always tempted to step on it and obsease over my weight.

Don't have one.

I do have several options at work, but they are calibrated regularly and more difficult to accept that they may be wrong, lol.

y'all probably don't want this mental image, being that i'm a clyde. and not a clyde because of height......

i keep the scale in the room in which i am most likely to be naked. because naked is the way i usually get on the scale. and if you're wondering, i am rarely naked in the kitchen, so i keep it in the bathroom.

The bathroom is carpeted for some strange reason so my scale resides in the bathroom closet. Once in awhile I will take it to the kitchen and use it. My answer is both the kitchen and bathroom, but do to the location where it is actually used I voted kitchen.

Second location is at the gym.

Office, which is a sporting club. Nice quality commercial grade unit that gets professionally calibrated.

In the bathroom, on a shelf. If I was smart, and really dedicated to de-clyding myself, I would glue it to the floor in front of the refridgerator, and put mirrors all over the fridge, so every time I opened the door, I would have to step on the fridge, and look at myself (or at least my gut). :roflmao2:

It was in a spare bedroom (where my dresser is because its too big to fit in my room).

Now its in the living room as I use the Wii Fit as my scale. :)

I have it in the bathroom and weigh myself twice a day. Once right before I shower and again between the time of 3pm-4pm in which I then record it in an excel spreadsheet right next to way to much information to post in this that people don't want to hear about. I really need to find somewhere I could figure out my body fat percentage on a daily basis.......Suggestions? Links?

First, by a scale or handheld device that provides the reading based on bio-electric impedence. Then have your body fat tested in the Health & Nutrition School at a local university, or with a reputable personal trainer at a gym. Each time you're tested, compare the results with your device.

Now you can use your purchased device daily and still have an idea what the error is between the device and a measured value. After you make a significant enough change in your body composition go get tested again at the gym/university. Compare results to your device to see if it is still accurate.

We don't own one, and probably never will. The scale is a horrible measure of health, all it does is measure how much gravity pulls on you. That being said, we usually use the one at the Y, or I use the one at the office.

Honestly, the easiest and best way to assess percent body fat is with a set of skin-fold calipers, which are often found at a gym or university. The bio-electric impedence does work fairly well, but it can be effected greatly by how hydrated or dehydrated the person using it is.

Just my $0.03 (adjusted for inflation and a pore economy).

I haven't had a lot of problem with scale lately, but when I do, I usually scrape it off and throw it in the trash can.

in the bathroom... that way i can weigh myself 1st thing in the morning to punch into my daily stats (which also holds my weekly body fat calculator numbers and my daily riding/exercise log

kitchen would be a great place to put it though... hanging from the fridge or something haha

Spare bedroom, because I don't bother checking weight very often. How I look and feel is what's important.

It's a beam type and it's right out in the LR across from the rollers and the mag trainer.
There is no sense having the truth anywhere but where I can see it daily.

I don't use one at home its to easy to look everyday and have mood swings if I go up a lb !!! I weigh myself at my Dr Office every 1 to 3 months . If I really wana know and have no reason to see him for a while I stop in and weigh myself . Works for me anyway .I need to go by and weigh myself its been about 8 or 9 weeks And I know I have lost more weight I have had to go to my last buckle on this belt . My first belt was to long 6 months ago so I bought this one gona need another soon .

Last time I weighed myself I was 284 started at 371 .My guess is Iam down about 15 more lbs I hope maybe 20:)I think I have broke the 100 lbs lost mark OMG I feel good about it . I have NO set goals and Iam NOT on a diet all those words are negative carma for me anyway . A scale being around me everyday was driving me a bit nuts .

What Scale?

I dunno where it is. I keep moving it. Every time I step on it it is too damn close to the "mega gravity spots" on earth where everything weighs 1 1/2 times more than "ordinary gravity". I think I may ship it on the next flight to the moon where it can benefit from a better gravity environment.

The key is METRIC, 200lbs is only 91kg, 300lbs:eek: is a measly 136kg, and 400lbs is a svelte 182kg.
Metric is the clydesdales best friend, 100km is a century (62 miles) and to get into 4 digits -- 1000km, can be accomplished much quicker (it's 620 miles). 500 in a month is also quite reasonable (310 miles).

Yup, I like metric, and for more reasons then it's easier to measure out 5ml of developer concentrate then it is 17/100ths of an ounce.... Gas is cheaper to $5/gallon is only $1.32 per Litre.....

One of these days the US will need to retire that hacked up version of British measurements and join the real world....:D

At work, I only work on fridays due to my hectic school schedule. I like not having one at home or else I may become discouraged easy if I was to gain a pound or two just due to water in a day. Though I plan on using one at the gym one day to see how much water I shed in a one hour workout.

Bathroom. Stranding on it is assured to mess up my morning but always makes for an educational experience. I can starve for a day and gain 3 lbs, or eat like the Russians are coming and lose 5; ride a century and gain a pair, or nap after work and weigh exactly the same.
I have never seen a dozen lbs drop off in a week, but have twice now seen it get added on.

bathroom, weigh myself when I wake up for work and when I get home. I don't obsess and doubt the accuracy but look for trends.

Right at the kitchen sink.

But there's no way it's correct when the OTHER scale in the house shows me 10 pounds lighter...

Bathroom... used about once a month. I'll eventually take it out to the trash and just use the mirror exclusively. I don't need the scale to tell me I'm fat, I can see that for myself :D

The gym.

I have a problem with scales to which many very fat folk may relate. Back three years ago when I began losing weight, I needed a scale, but I couldn't find a model that went up to 400 pounds. So I tried weighing with two cheap scales, one foot on each. That was unsatisfactory, so I used the scale at my gym. Even there I had a problem at first as I weighed 50 pounds more than the maximum reading. So I had to put up with seven weeks wait till I reached 350. The plus side is that I know I lost 50 pounds in seven weeks.

Mine's at the doctor's office. Whenever I feel the need to weigh myself, I can just go pay them $25 copay for a "checkup" and they're happy to weigh me. Or I can go to this one mall and pay a quarter for the scale in the bathroom there.

I'm not convinced that weighing oneself frequently is useful due to the inaccuracies and since it may be hard to say what is going on if you are losing fat and gaining muscle at the same time. This guy (http://www.scoobysworkshop.com/measuringProgress.htm)suggests that measuring waist and bicep is a better way to measure progress and that you should not bother with scales. He says that if you are gaining muscle and losing fat, the waist will get smaller while the bicep gets bigger. For a bicycle rider I would probably substitute mid-thigh for bicep or just add it to the other two.
