Mountain Biking - bent rims

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

well, i bent the back rim of my good old Nakamura FS 9000, and when i opened up the wheel to try and true the rims, i discoverd (to my horror) that all the tightening dealies were stripped, so i cant true the rim :(
so, is there some way i can still salvage this rim, or should i just go buy a new one?
i dont know if i want to invest any money into this bike, as its a piece of crap, so, what should i do?

i got a wheel set for 65 CAD. only used a few times. Sun Ringle CR18 laced to Deore disc Hubs with a 9sp Derore (hg50) cassette. Look for used online on various sites if you don't wanna spend that much.

As long as it is ridable and rolls when he pedals, hes fine. YOu gotta stop bashing this guy just becasue he doesn't have a nice enough bike.

heehee.. best friends for life :p
but my bike really is crap... im looking for a different one for cheap... if you live in the Greater toronto area and are selling one, send me a message or something.
Check ebay for some bike deals or a wheel. I know nashbar sells individual wheels if you dont want to buy a set. But they run around 40 and for 60 you get a set so its up to you.
