On March 6, 7, & 8 I'll be going to a big reunion in the Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area. We'll be gathering in the Whiskeytown section. The NRA itself is known more for mountain biking than road riding.

Can anyone recommend road rides near Whiskeytown NRA?

I'll have a car.

Oh Yeah !!! There's a ride called Wildwood-Peanut loop..... Drive up 299 to Douglas City.... Veer left on 3 (?) towards Hayfork.....(drive is roughly 40-50 miles).... You can start at the junction of 3/Wildwood road, or in Hayfork....The loop follows 3 - 36 - Wildwood Road..... about 40 miles.... this is a GREAT loop.....(remote too) If you can find a copy of "California Dream Cycling" (Bodfish..~1992) it has details..... You really should check it out.... :giver:

This is good news. I'll be staying in or near Hayfork.
