So I'm having some problems with the u-brake on my Fuse 3.
I had some caked on grease on the rim from about a year ago, don't ask.
Anyways, when going to finally clean the rim I was guided in the direction of simple green.
It has worked well but I still find trace amounts of grease coming off with continuous cleaning.
Now that I'm pretty fine with the rim being clean my pads needed a fresh grip on the rim so i used some extra fine sand paper to sand down a fresh surface, they grabbed great for about a block. Then they stopped working so well.
When I got the bike home and checked it out the pads have silver residue? It's a chrome rim so I guess it would be chrome residue but it looks silver. Anyways, cleaned that off and here I am asking about it.
What should I do about the residue?
I'm thinking maybe new pads? Just using the stock tektro fx-15 pads but yeah, Thanks guys. Sorry for the abnormally long post.
