So it's been eleven years since I last raced BMX. I've been on the road, track and cross racing scenes for the past five years...mainly due to the fact that there weren't any decent BMX tracks within riding/driving distance from where I used to live. I'm now living near a pretty nice track and am thinking about getting a BMX and giving it a try, again.

My main question is: what size/type do I get? I'm 8" taller than when I last raced...at 6'2" with really long legs (bodes well for road racing) should I automatically look into a cruiser?

Can anoyone recommend some decent brands/bikes to look at? I've done some searching, looked at DK, Haro and MCS. Anything else anyone might recommend? I am looking to spend 250-400 tops. I need to get a new full face and leathers before I get out there again too.

Thanks!

I've seen guys your height riding 20", but I would look into cruisers if I were you. Look into Intense, GT, Haro, Redline, etc. Go on J&R's (https://www.jrbicycles.com/storefront/) and check out what they have. You might have to go a little over the $400 mark unfortunately. You can check Dan's too, but they don't have a great racing selection.
